We're not waiting to see what the weather has in store for us. We are adapting to ongoing climate change. Our company Top Hop takes care of our landscape, so that we can preserve the tradition of hop growing in Žatecko and Rakovnik.
Just like the rest of the world, Žatecko and Rakovník, where our hop-growing region is located, are increasingly facing a changing climate. The weather is becoming less and less predictable and with the annual loss of winter snow cover, we need to look for alternative ways to ensure our hops get enough moisture during the growing season.
TOP HOP therefore invests in the construction of irrigation systems and associated irrigation water storage tanks. We are currently in the process of completing the first pilot project to build and fill the tanks that will help us irrigate the first dozen hectares of our hop fields.
