A contract on support for the construction of a modern grain storage complex in Maciejowice by AGROFERT Polska was signed at the headquarters of the Opole branch of the Agricultural Development and Modernisation Agency (ARiMR). The cost of the entire investment, which is to be completed by autumn next year, is PLN 23m, of which PLN 3m is support from the ARMA, said Karel Vabroušek of Agrofert Polska.
"After the successful implementation of the project of modernisation of technologies at the Lwówek Ślaski plant, the Company is implementing another important investment project in Poland near the Czech border. It will involve the construction of new technologies for cleaning, drying and storage of commodities such as corn, wheat, barley, etc.," says Karel Vabroušek, Chairman of the Board of Managing Directors of AGROFERT Polska.
The investment includes the construction of six silos, each with a capacity of 2,000 tonnes and a warehouse with a capacity of 12-14,000 tonnes. The facility will also be equipped with a modern grain drying and processing plant.
Paweł Kampa, Deputy Director of the ARMA branch in Opole, highlighted the increased comfort of doing business for Polish farmers. "By creating such modern grain storage facilities, farmers do not have to travel tens of kilometres with their grain. Modern warehouses located close to production centres allow quick access and unloading, and in today's farming industry, where an hour of machine operation costs real money, time is of the essence. In addition, thanks to our support, farmers have more opportunities to store and sell their crops," Kampa added.
